Happy 4th Hon!

The 4th of July is a big holiday around here.  The traditions have changed over the years but it's still a great day to spend with friends and family!  We went to the Dundalk parade every 4th of July, probably since I was born, up until a few years ago when my grandparents moved to Harford County.
It's a great parade and even better people watching!

Actually, the title of this post comes from one of my grandparent's neighbors that we used to sit next to at the parade.  She would clap through pretty much the whole parade and say,
"Happy 4th Hon!"  Maybe you had to be there but she really loved the parade and had some Dundalk pride!

We still visit the area around the 4th to go to the Dundalk Heritage Fair for some great music, food, and still... the people watching!
We went to see a Beatles band, The Mahoney Brothers
and they were really good!

At the Heritage Fair - this was supposed to be daddy's ice cream to share with Addie...
I think he got a few bites
In all her ice cream glory

Daddy/Uncle Kyle, Addie and Brin at the Bel Air parade

Do you notice a theme with the ice cream?  Brin was so nice to share!

Why do they listen to "make a silly face" but not "smile"?

We tried!

A few gems I didn't capture:

* more of the 'scenery' in Dundalk (seriously, if you haven't been, mark your calendar for the festivities next year)
* Addie burned her finger touching a sparkler after it went out... poor girl!
* the boys setting off fireworks... fortunately no one lost any digits or limbs

Happy 4th!!

Hershey Park Happy

We spent Father's Day weekend camping and going to Hershey Park. (Please note: By camping I mean an RV with A/C, running water, hot shower, microwave, refrigerator, etc.  There isn't really anything that classifies it as camping... except maybe the campfire and making smores.)

Adelyn was a little hesitant about the cold water at the waterpark but she loved all of the rides later in the day... enjoy!

Mother may I...

bore you with a long post?

How does 2 months go by without a fascinating post from our fascinating lives you ask?

Not sure but here's what you've missed:

Opening Day with the Orioles!
  • Kyle and I celebrated our 8th anniversary with a trip to Atlantic City while Adelyn stayed for 2 nights with her Nana and Grandudes.  We were hesitant to put them through 3 days and 2 nights with a 20 month old but we had a great time!  Besides Addie's 5:30am alarm clock, I think N & G would do it again (hint hint... just kidding!...but we likely wouldn't refuse an offer...)
  • EASTER!
Just a girl and her cupcake!

Too busy with her new blocks to give mom that cheesy smile

  • Mother's Day!  I can't brag about a husband that made me breakfast in bed and thankfully so... he knows me well enough to know I don't like breakfast, nor do we have even an extra 5 minutes while rushing out the door in the morning.  I did however get a mini rose bush and a new chunky bling watch band!  My favorite of all though was my first handmade Mother's Day card from Addie... so cute and she was so proud!

We spent a beautiful afternoon having a picnic at Susquehanna Park with four generations:

Watching these two together is so fun!
They are so close in age so they have their moments but sometimes they'll go off away from everybody and talk and play like best friends.
They thought using these bouncy balls as seats was hilarious.
Wonder what they are always chatting about
or what devious plan they are concocting?

Aquatic Adventure

We took Adelyn to the Baltimore Aquarium last Friday and to say the least,
she loved it!!

I was afraid she might not care and be too young,
but for the cheap-after-5pm price, we didn't think it could turn out too terribly.

Unfortunately she had to press her face up against each display as I'm sure hundreds of little ones have done before (yuck) but that's what wipees are for right?!

"Fishies!"

Supposed to be a picture of the big shark teeth display.
Instead it's Addie putting her mouth on the partition rope.
Pass the wipees!

Gotcha!  This isn't from the aquarium visit.
Kyle found it in an oyster...he cooked...for eating!
Gross!

Ham

How long does this phase last?

even bribed with chocolate for this one

Oooh - looks painful.
And please ignore the mullet - I don't know what to do with that hair!

Smile big with Daddy!

So much/ So little

Instead of continuing to feel guilty about slacking on my blogging/journaling...

I'll start fresh next week!

How often do we say that to ourselves?
I can only speak for myself and I say that a lot but I'm ok with that.

So much to post but so little time.
I don't know how you consistent blogging mommies do it?!

Shout out...

My sister Kara is so creative and talented... you have to check out her Etsy Shop.  You know you want to, just click it!  Her stuff is even cuter in person if that is possible.

Love ya Sis!

p.s. she didn't ask me to do this and she'll probably kill me if she sees it so shhh, don't tell!  :)
